Home/Who We Are

Two decades of doing the work rather than describing it.

An advisory and delivery firm built around what institutions actually have to get done, and accountable for whether it gets done.

The firm

Twenty years in business. Nineteen of them spent delivering assignments.

Avanto Group began in procurement and sourcing. The practice grew the way the problems did. A sourcing decision became a freight and customs problem. A freight problem became a supply chain design question. A supply chain design needed quantification, and then evidence. The institutions we worked with needed the governance, financial and legal architecture to hold all of it.

What the firm is today follows directly from that: ten practices under one roof, held together because the underlying work does not divide cleanly. We are equally comfortable being engaged for one narrow technical output and for an end-to-end scope that crosses five practices.

We are an operating firm, not a panel of associates. The people who scope an assignment are the people accountable for delivering it, and they are the ones who answer for it afterwards.

What we believe

Three convictions that shape how we take work on

01

Technical defensibility beats persuasion

A specification, a sample or a valuation either withstands examination or it does not. We would rather deliver a harder answer that holds than an easier one that does not, and we would rather have that argument at the start of an assignment than at the end of one.

02

Independence has to cost something

If independent verification were commercially convenient, it would not be worth very much. We forgo execution work in order to hold verification mandates cleanly, and we decline scopes that would put us on both sides of the same judgement.

03

Capability should stay behind

The best outcome of a reform or capacity assignment is that the client stops needing that service from us. Manuals, delegations, training and certification are designed with that ending in mind rather than as an afterthought.

How we are organised

One line of accountability, whatever the scope.

Each practice holds its own specialists, its own standards and its own quality control. Where an engagement crosses several, one partner carries it end to end, which means a client is never asked to coordinate between parts of the same firm.

Our verification and evaluation work is the deliberate exception. It runs on separate staffing and separate management, because a finding is only worth what its independence is worth.

The people who scope an assignment are the people accountable for delivering it.

Twenty years of it. Bring us the difficult part.

If the requirement is straightforward, you probably do not need us. If it has to survive an audit, a corridor or an evaluation, that is the work we are built for.
